1. Who we are and what this covers

Danson Solutions operates Chatty Chimpu (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy covers personal information handled in connection with the Chatty Chimpu app, its related webpages, and enquiries about the project. Third-party platforms have their own privacy practices as described below.

2. Information handled by the service

The app’s learning activities play recorded audio; they do not require a child to record their voice. The reviewed app features do not ask for precise location, contacts, camera access, or microphone recordings. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.

The website’s Namaste sample runs in your browser and does not submit or persist answers. In-app quiz interactions can appear in diagnostic output; cloud learning progress stores activity-completion flags rather than a full answer history.

3. How information is used

• Provide account sign-in and recovery.
• Save level completion, resume a journey, and unlock later chapters.
• Deliver video playback and other online features.
• Respond to enquiries and requests, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot issues.
• Meet applicable legal obligations and maintain the service.

Where law requires a legal basis for processing, the relevant basis depends on the purpose: providing a requested service, meeting a legal duty, consent where required, or another lawful basis permitted in the circumstances. We must obtain any consent required for a particular use before relying on it.

4. Children’s privacy and parents’ role

Chatty Chimpu is designed for children. We ask parents or guardians to supervise use and assist with accounts. A parent’s guidance, an adult email address, or agreement to terms does not by itself replace any legally required parental notice and verifiable consent.

Parents can contact us to ask what information is associated with an account, request correction or deletion, or raise a concern about further collection. We may need proportionate information to verify the requester’s authority while avoiding unnecessary collection.

Actual age range, account arrangements, and parental consent process: aged 5–12, including children living outside Nepal who wish to learn the Nepali language and explore Nepali culture..

If you believe a child’s information has been provided without appropriate authorization, contact us so the account and information can be reviewed. Where children’s privacy laws require prior consent, the service must satisfy that requirement before collecting covered information.

5. Services used by the app

• Firebase Authentication: handles account sign-in and recovery. Firebase can process authentication information and technical data, including IP addresses and user-agent information, for service operation and security.
• Cloud Firestore: stores level-completion information associated with the Firebase account identifier.
• Google sign-in: is an optional sign-in method that can supply account identity, email, display name, and profile image information.
• YouTube: provides embedded video playback. Connecting to or playing an embedded video can involve Google/YouTube processing technical information, cookies or identifiers, and playback activity under its policies and settings. A privacy-enhanced player is not a guarantee that no information is processed.

Firebase Analytics is included in the Android configuration. Its actual collection depends on the deployed settings. Analytics configuration and use: The Flutter project's declared and resolved dependencies do not include the Firebase Analytics package, and no explicit Firebase Analytics calls were found in the application code reviewed. However, Firebase Analytics enablement at the project level and data collection by other included SDKs have not yet been independently verified. The information collected by the app and its service providers must be confirmed against the actual implementation..

Provider information: Firebase privacy and security, Google privacy policy, and YouTube embedded-player information. Their policies do not replace our responsibility for the service’s own processing.

6. Device storage and website cookies

The app stores sign-in tokens using secure device storage. Cached user details and the onboarding preference are stored through local app preferences. Signing out clears the app’s stored session and cached user details; it does not automatically erase the account or cloud-stored progress.

Some embedded app games load Google-hosted fonts, which involve a connection to Google. The related website can be subject to hosting logs, WordPress cookies, and tools added by the site operator. The Namaste sample does not add an account, analytics, or answer-storage mechanism. If you follow an external link, the destination’s practices apply.

7. Disclosure, advertising, and international processing

Information is processed by the providers described above to operate the relevant features. It may also need to be disclosed when required by law, to address a security incident or misuse, or in connection with a lawful organizational change, subject to applicable protections and notice requirements.

Sale, advertising-related sharing, and marketing practices: Chatty Chimpu does not sell users’ personal information, share it with third parties for targeted advertising, or use it for promotional marketing communications. Since these activities are not conducted, the app does not currently provide separate advertising or marketing opt-out controls. Users may contact the operating entity with any questions or concerns regarding their personal information..

Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements must be met. Contact us for information about the locations and safeguards relevant to your account.

8. Retention and security

Retention should be limited to what is necessary for the disclosed purpose, applicable legal obligations, and legitimate security needs. Account, progress, diagnostic, and backup information can have different retention periods.

Actual retention and deletion schedule: Users can request account deletion through the website at any time. Account information is retained while the account remains active, and associated learning-progress data stored in Cloud Firestore is intended to be deleted as part of the account-deletion process. Technical logs generated by Firebase or other service providers may be retained according to their respective retention policies. Support correspondence may be retained when necessary to respond to requests or comply with legal obligations. The operating entity does not maintain separate backups of user accounts, and any service-provider backups or recovery copies are subject to the relevant providers’ policies. Deletion is subject to applicable legal requirements and any limited technical retention required by service providers..

The app uses authenticated access, secure token storage, and Firestore rules that restrict access to a user’s own progress. These measures reduce risk but do not make any online system completely secure. Use a strong password, keep your device protected, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

Depending on applicable law and your relationship to the account, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing; obtain a copy of information; withdraw applicable consent; or complain to a competent privacy authority.

To request account or learning-progress deletion, or exercise another applicable right:

1. Use the privacy email or the Danson Solutions contact page below.
2. Identify the request as a “Chatty Chimpu privacy request” and provide the email associated with the account.
3. If acting for a child, explain your relationship to the account holder. Do not send the account password or unnecessary identity documents.

We may verify identity or authority before acting and will handle requests as required by applicable law. Any legal retention exception should be explained where applicable. Uninstalling the app, signing out, or revoking Google sign-in does not itself delete previously stored account or progress information.

You can choose not to use optional Google sign-in, adjust relevant device/provider settings, and stop using online features. Withdrawing consent does not automatically affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal or that relies on another valid legal basis.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or information practices change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice or obtain new consent where required by law. Review this page periodically, particularly when new features are introduced.
